A New Year

As Alu walked up the stairs of the main entrance, he looked around, admiring every aspect of the castle that he had missed since the last school year ended. "Another great year. I think so!" he whispered to himself, getting excited to see all the new additions to Gryffindor. As they got to the top of the stairs, waiting for the doors to the Great Hall to open, he looked around for his old friends.

Friends that he had missed and not spoken to since the last ride back to the station the past year. "Where is she?" he asked while looking around for Ophelia,"I guess I'll see her inside.."

After a few more minutes the doors to the Great Hall opened and they started walking in. When he got in he saw the Headmaster walking to her podium about to do the opening announcement to the 1st years.

A muster of students fled through the entrance, all enthusiastic to be returning for another year at Hogwarts. As for Ophelia, the feeling was dispassionate. She wasn't worked-up in the very least as she followed through group of people, "Troublesome." she sighed softly to herself as she walked up the stairs, watching her feet and constantly staring at the ground.

Ophelia remembered when she was placed into Slytherin and being told about its bad reputation. Not that she cared or anything; she doesn't take interest in what people think of her. Yet, she was quite interested in seeing new first years and watch how nervous and exited they get once that sorting hat is placed on their little heads to see what house they get.

She didn't bother to look for anybody, for she might see them inside when no one is jumbled around. Everyone was talking, whispering and giggling all around her. Soon enough everyone grew silent as the Great Hall doors opened.
