Ahh the lake. This was a favored hang out spot for most of the students at Hogwarts on sunny days. People would gather in the shade of one of the many trees, or beat the heat by taking a dip with the squid. However, on a day like today most students prefered to hide indoors. Rose was not one of those students. As soon as the weather started to get slightly chilly, people headed for the corridors and other such locations inside. For the most part the grounds were left empty. Of course, there were a few others like Rose who didn't mind getting a little cold.
Rose tugged a little bit on her jacket, pulling it closer to her body as a sudden wind picked up and sweapt across the grounds. The sun was still high in the sky, making the weather tolerable, but when the wind came it brought on that knowing chill of the upcoming winter season. A small smile crossed the girl's face as her red hair whipped around infront of her face. Rose was not about to say that winter was her favorite season, but it definatly ranked high on the scales.
Rose's shoe clad feet stopped moving at an all too familiar location. Her spot. Right since first year Rose had claimed this particular tree beside the lake her spot. The branches were low enough that you could climb it, and on a sunny day it provided a nice large patch of shade. of course, that also meant that in the rain it provided a nice dry spot as well. Today she needed neither shade nor a dry spot though, today she just needed to sit and do nothing. Given that it was a sunday afternoon most students were inside doing their homework. Rose, being quite a bit like her mother, had finished all her homework earlier in the weekend, and was now left pretty much alone to do nothing. So, dropping her bag on the trunk of the tree and pulling out her book, Rose then gave a small jump to the closest branch and pulled herself up. She perched ehrself on said branch with one leg hanging down, and leaned against the trunk to survey her surroundings for a few moment.

Cold ,windy days. Those were the ones that he liked best. Alu walked down towards the lake ,while others walked past him ,back towards the castle. Some laughed and giggled with their friends. Others looked at him and started to talk in secret. He knew that people would talk about him ,maybe they thought he was crazy for going out on such a freezing day.
When he got down to the lake ,he looked out at the water and then got down on his knees and played with it for awhile. He looked around and noticed someone about to climb a tree ,a Gryffindor from the look of it.When he looked the other way ,he noticed a pair of Slytherin coming his way. As soon as he saw them ,he stood up and walked the opposite way.
While he walked ,he started thinking about the person he saw by the tree ,the person who seemed to be a Gryffindor that also disappeared from view. As he neared the tree he turned to look up it ,only to hit his head on something. As he looked up to see what he thought would be a branch ,was actually ,to his surprise ,a foot.

Rose, having been wrapped up in the idea of climbing the tree to read her book, was completely oblivious to her surroundings. She knew, thanks to the sound, that there were still many people out that day, but she did not exactly aware of who those people were. Not that it mattered, most of her friends were inside doing homework, so she expected no one she really cared too much about.
It took only moments to actually have climbed the tree to sit on a rather low branch compared to some of the others. She didn't like being too high off the ground when not on a broom, but where she had perched herself was fine. After that it took only a few moments for Rose to open up her book and scan the page to where she had left off.
The sound of footsteps coming closer reached her ears, but Rose ignored them because hardly anyone came near this tree anymore that wasn't her friend. Of course, a few curious people occasionally came by and stole her spot for a few hours. That was fine, but considering she was in the tree, she did not expect what happened next. All of a sudden someone's head collided with her foot, throwing Rose slightly off balance. She let out a small squeal, startled, and then accidently dropped her book as she grabbed the branch for balance.
Once Rose had calmed herself that she was not going to fall out of the tree she looked down to see exactly who had collided with her foot. Sure enough there was someone there. She tried to give him a small smile as she said "I'm sorry 'bout my foot colliding with your head...."

As Alu rubbed his head with his hand trying to make sure there was no bruise ,he looked up. "It's ok. It was my fault for not looking where i was going." He said with a big smile on his face. He then looked down slightly and noticed the book on the ground. He bends over and picks it up. "I'm sorry. Here you go." He stretches out his arm and tries to give here the book.

Rose laughed lightly at the boy's comment about having should have watched where he was going. To be fair, it was a little bit difficult to see what you are going to collide with when that danger may be hidden by branches above your head. She shook her head a little as she thought of this. "In your defence, I am in a tree which is still covered in leaves. Unless you are looking for a danger in a tree, I think it would be rather difficult to spot my foot."
She noticed at that point that the boy had picked up her book, and was stretching his hand up in order to give it back. Rose shuddered at the thought of letting go of the branch, even if only for a second, in this position to grab the book. Sure, she was good at hiding her fear, but Rose did not exactly like to play with fate when it came to things like that. She smiled at the gesture though, and decided that better conversation would be a perfect excuse to jump out of the tree without giving herself away.
Rose braced herself, telling herself to act as if this was something she did all the time as she jumped out of the tree. She landed somewhat ungracefully, not bending her knees quite enough and stumbling forward a little bit. Once she regained her composure Rose turned her attention back to the boy. She once again gave him a small smile, extending her hand to take the book from him. "Thanks," she said, gingerly taking the book as if it were the most precious belonging she had.

Alu looked at her and smiled. "Haha I guess so ,but still ,I think I should pay attention to where I go more often."
He noticed that when he tried to give her the book she looked about some what nervous. He thought that maybe she was abit shaken up from almost fallen from the tree when his head hit her foot. With his arm still stretched out to her ,he saw her about to jump down.
As the girl jumped down he noticed she almost fell over. As he waved his arms ,about to gently grab her arms so she doesn't fall she stands up straight and lightly smiles. "Please be careful. I don't want you to get hurt." He said this as she grabbed her book from his hand. "Your welcome."

Rose shook her head with a small smile. "Paying attention to where you are going is generally a good idea. I know I have knocked into a few people and trees in my years here." She remembered one day dodging a person just to then run into a tree. While she was hurt, she couldn't have helped but to laugh at herself. Good times.
She looked at the boy as he told her to be careful. That was an understatement. Oh well, such is life. "I'll try, but quite honestly I think my family would laugh if I ended up in the Hospital Wing. Especially by means of something other than my Uncle's jokes." She shook her head at the thought, knowing that at least half of the students at the school who wound up there had been injured from one of the many jokes in the shop.
She sighed softly as she moved to lean against the trunk of the tree. Flipping the book over in her hand she grinned, turning her attention back to the boy infront of her as another soft breeze blew by, tossing her hair about again. Rose grinned through her hair "Don't you just love this weather? Not too hot, but not too cold either."

He looked at her with a small look of confusion in his eyes. "They would laugh if you ended up in the Hospital wing? But why? Is there something to laugh at when someone gets hurt?" He had small frown on his face now.
He looked back up at her and felt the wind blow by slowly. "Yeah ,I do love this weather. I prefer it a bit colder ,but this is nice." He looked around and noticed that everyone had gone back to the castle ,even the Slytherin he had seen earlier.

Rose's eyes went wide. Why would her family laugh? Seriously, she was part of one of the largest wizarding families, and with all the time her mom, dad, or uncle Harry spent in the hospital wing when they were in school, a bed was practically reserved for them. She shook her head though "Oh, just because I am one of the more cautious Weasley's in my generation. It is expected from some of my cousins, but I'm generally pretty cautious compared to them." She smiled at the thought, imagining how many times her cousins have been to the hospital at school.
She shook her head at the boy's comment. "Nah, a little warmer is nicer. The weather when you can still walk around without a sweater." She grinned, thinking about all the summer months spent without sweaters, and only tank tops and shorts. "Don't get me wrong, I love winter, but I hate having to wear so many layers. Kinda like being warm, but not the so warm you are melting warm."

He glanced at the ground for awhile and then back at her. "That's still not a really good reason for laughing." He thought back to the time when his guardians would worry every time he would get hurt. Especially on how much they would over exaggerate everything that happened.
He smiled and laughed a bit. "I usually tend to walk around with out a sweater in the cold anyways. I just love it wen the cold air hits me. I don't wear to many layers either ,it kind of bugs me if I wear to many ,cause then I don't feel the cold air."

Rose shook her head "No, not really. But as long as it wasn't serious, ya know, if I tripped and fell over a root and twisted my ankle, or falling out of a tree..... Those sorts of things would be funny." She smiled a little, thinking that she would also probably laugh at one of her cousins if something like that happened to them. Same with one of the jokes from the joke shop, sometimes when you ended up in the hospital after that it was funny, not always though.
A small shiver ran up Rose's spin when the boy infront of her mentioned that he walked around without a sweater anyways. He must be insane in order to do that, though, Rose just really did like warm. "You must be insane," She said, voicing her thoughts. "I would never be able to live without a sweater, it gets too cold some days."

He looked at her kinda confused. "Twisting your ankle is funny? Wouldn't it hurt?" He seemed a bit concerned. He looked back at her and then smiled lightly. "I guess ,I know that if my parents were still around they would be somewhat concerned." He looked away for abit ,then back at her with a pained smile ,almost looked forced but he couldn't help it. He was sad for what had happened all those years ago.
He laughed when she called him 'insane'. "I guess most people would call me insane or crazy too. I just love to out especially in the cold air ,or in the snow."

Rose nodded. "I have a kinda odd family, not gonna lie." She paused and thought "You must ha ve seen something in the past the would strike you as odd with some injury. With the amount of Weasley's and Potter's running around." She gave a shrug. Perhaps this boy just didn't take notice in the craziness of her cousins, that would be a good explination.
Rose grinned at the mention of snow. "I love the snow, I just don't like being cold. Finding the happy medium is good ya know," She snickered a little "Also prevents getting sick."

He looked at her and laughed abit. "I bet they're not that odd." He looked away and thought for awhile before looking back at her. "They could be weirder." He said with a smile.
Alu laughed for awhile and then calmed down after a few minutes. "I don't get sick as often as I should. I'm always walking around in rain or in snow ,and I never get sick. I think it's weird. So do other people," He thought back a few months ago where some people would stare at him and whisper to others, "I guess I am weird ,or just plain crazy."
