Post by Headmistress Luna Bloodheart on Jun 20, 2011 11:59:19 GMT -5
Luna sat at her giant seat at the front of the hall, waiting for the students to arrive. She didnt want to be at the front of the school when the boats and carriages arrived, she liked to stay inside. She looked up at the floating candles and smiled. "Its going to be a good year." she murmured to herself. When the students came in she'd start the sorting ceremony, and then explain the new rules for the school. She glanced up at the sorting hat on the stool in front of her. It seemed to be asleep. She chuckled softly.
When the doors opened and the professors started leading the students in, she stood up and walked to her podium. She looked down at her wand and smiled at her new students. The returning students immediately went to their tables, while the first years stood awkwardly at the front. She looked over at the sorting hat, which was looking over the new students. The first years were looking around. Glancing at the banners and candles and everything that decorated the Great Hall. Luna had on her friendliest smile as she looked at the first years.

Post by Pansy Anne Zabini on Jun 25, 2011 19:38:28 GMT -5
Pansy sat at her desk going over last minute preparations for the school year. The clock on the wall chimed 7. Oh no! I'm late for the feast, Pansy thought as she finished up what she was working on and headed downstairs to the Great Hall, hoping that she wasn't the only one running late. She wore a long black dress that stopped around her ankles and flowed behind her slightly as she walked. She wore black eighty percent of the time, she didn't feel comfortable in any other colour.
She hurried along the corridors, taking secret passages as she went to save time. Pansy finally arrived at the Great Hall, the first years were not waiting outside. Great, I'm really late, Pansy thought and sighed.
She opened the door and began walking toward the front of the Great Hall, she had a lot of memories in this place. She remembered all of the students that went to school with her and still kept in contact with a few of them. She walked beside the Slytherin table smirking; she would always remain loyal to her house.
Pansy walked up the small flight of steps to the staff table; nodded at the Headmistress and took her seat. She looked at the first years, found her youngest son among them and smirked. Hopefully he'll be in Slytherin like the rest of them. . .

Post by Rose Nicole Weasley on Jun 26, 2011 1:55:31 GMT -5
Rose was excited for another year at school. She had had a pretty good summer with her family, thankfully no one had died. Rose was sometimes surprised at how tolerant the Weasley children were of each other. Sure, they had their fights and debates, but for the most part they all got along pretty well. Of course, by the end of the summer they were normally all looking forward to going back to school and being somewhat away from each other. It was only somewhat away from each other because well, the Weasley children of this generation followed the same path as their parents and were all Gryffindors. Good times.
Rose did, however, have her own set of friends at school which she enjoyed spending time with. Needless to say, Rose hardly saw her cousins on the train ride to school. Sure, she loved her cousins, but some time apart did them good as well. Once the train arrived at school Rose took the carriages with the rest of the older students whiel the first years were shipped off to the boats. At that point Rose had to smile a little bit. She remembered the boat ride, and missed it as well. Oh well, she couldn't change the mode of transportation, so she would just have to accept it.
once at the school Rose followed her fellow classmates towards the Great Hall for the traditional welcome feast. This would mark the begining of her fifth year at the school. Her first year with major exams, as well as the year where she would have to choose what to do once she graduated, so that she could figure out what classes were needed for said chosen career path. As of that moment, Rose was rather unsure of what she wanted to do. Hopefully when the time came she would know, however for the time being she would enjoy the feast, and welcome whichever new first years were sorted into her house to the table.

Post by Luis Alu Hellsing on Jul 13, 2011 18:56:12 GMT -5
Alu walked into the Great Hall when the doors swung open. He looked around and saw the 1st year's faces look inside of it and smile. As they all walked in he noticed some of them wow in amazement over how beautiful and nicely prepared everything was.
He saw that most of them were pointing out the top of the Hall. The night sky full with floating candles. He remembered his first year and how he to looked at the roof and just got a big smile on his face.
"I wonder how many of these 1st years will be Gryffindor's?" ,he said to another Gryffindor as he began sitting down at their table. The other student turned to him and smiled. He looked back into the crowd of 1st years and noticed someone that he knew in there and hoped that he got Gryffindor.
He had known him since he was only two and remembered that his parents asked Alu to look after him so nothing bad happens to him.
Everything started to calm down when the Headmistress got up and got to her podium and started her welcoming speech to the everyone. He noticed that some people were still talking and then saw a 2nd year look at them and say ,"Guys ,can you please pay attention or talk quieter?" They just looked at him and told him to mind his own business if he knew what was good for him. Alu frowned and then looked away.
When he looked back up to where the Headmistress was he realized that the sorting ceremony had begun.

Post by Ophelia Nightingale Lior on Jul 14, 2011 0:08:50 GMT -5
Ophelia's eyes twinkled as she entered The Great Hall. Gazing at the night sky ceiling was one of her favorite things about Hogwarts. Every time she walked through the doors it was the first thing did and would daydream about holding stars in her hands, grasping their lustrous shimmer. "Hey, why are you just standing there?" questioned a random student. Ophelia blushed in embarrassment and moved along to the Slytherin table to take her seat, ignoring the strange student.
As she sat down everyone grew louder to her irritation and she sighed weakly. "Whats up with you?" asked a fellow Slytherin. Ophelia sat silently, deciding not to reply. That's yet another question she shall avoid, for all anyone usually asked her "why" this and "why" that. Anyone who asked for her reason for doing things, are immediately ignored.
She heard the others whispering to each other, knowing they were talking about her and she rolled her eyes at them with pure crudity which made them suddenly keep their mouths shut and thoughts to themselves. "That's what I thought." she whispered and glared at them for a split second. Promptly, the students began to settle down. Rightfully assuming the sorting ceremony was about to start.
Ophelia peered around the other tables as she received odd looks from the others. Surely she felt out of place sometimes, especially here.
